In the span of three weeks, Golden Horn was victorious in the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes (G1) and Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1), and remains rated at his previously achieved 130. The talented 3-year-old colt will retire to stud at the end of year, however, owner Anthony Oppenheimer indicated Golden Horn is under serious consideration for the upcoming Longines Breeders' Cup Turf (G1).

Treve finished fourth behind Golden Horn in the Arc after devastating her rivals in the Qatar Prix Vermeille (G1). With her recent exploits, Treve's rating improved from 124 to 126, making her the third-highest rated horse in the world. The 5-year-old mare, who was the co-highest rated horse of 2013, has now been retired to broodmare duties.

The ever-consistent FLINTSHIRE (GB) [123] was second in the Arc, while rankings newcomer NEW BAY (GB) [122] was third. Golden Horn was two lengths clear of Flintshire, but only a neck and a nose separated second from fourth place. In his prior start, New Bay took the Qatar Prix Niel (G2) by two and a half lengths. Arc fifth-place finisher ERUPT (IRE) [120], who won the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (G1) in July, is also now ranked.

Achieving the highest rating from the newcomers, however, is ORDER OF ST GEORGE (IRE) [123], who won the Palmerstown House Estate Irish St. Leger (G1) by an imposing 11 lengths.

Meanwhile, the original rating given to AL KAZEEM (GB) [121] for May's Tattersalls Gold Cup (G1) has been improved in light of second-place finisher FASCNATING ROCK (IRE) [120] going on to win the KPMG Enterprise Stakes (G3) by six lengths in September.

Poule d'Essai des Poulains – Prix le Parisien (G1) victor MAKE BELIEVE (GB) [121] took the Qatar Prix de la Foret (G1) on Arc day to join the rankings, while TONALIST (USA) [120] won the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1) for the second consecutive year.
