THE WORLD'S LEADING HORSES
(For the period 1st October 2006 to 31st March 2007)

INVASOR (ARG) (129) retains his position as the top ranked racehorse in the world in the latest edition of the World's Leading Horses, which covers the period 1st October 2006 - 31st March 2007. In winning the Emirates Dubai World Cup, he proved that his Breeders' Cup Classic winning performance was no fluke and confirmed his status as the best horse in the world as ranked by the panel of official handicappers drawn from the major racing nations affiliated to the IFHA.

PREMIUM TAP (USA) (125), in winning the Clark Handicap and coming second to Invasor (ARG) in the Emirates Dubai World Cup, confirmed his steady improvement and this is reflected in his rise from joint 12th in the previous listing of the WLH to joint 7th in the current listing.

ADMIRE MOON (JPN) (125) has also risen to joint 7th in the current listing (from joint 19th) following his commanding performance in the Dubai Duty Free which elevates him to current best Turf miler in the world and puts him second only to DEEP IMPACT (JPN) (127) among the Japanese horses in the listing.

LINNGARI (IRE) (122), in finishing second in the Dubai Duty Free, is the highest 'new entry' in the current listing (joint 10th), in the process becoming the highest rated South African trained horse since the launch of the World's Leading Horses in 2005.

VENGEANCE OF RAIN (NZ) (122) returned to his best form in winning the Nakheel Dubai Sheema Classic and in doing so regained the mantle of top ranked Hong Kong horse in the listing ahead of ABSOLUTE CHAMPION (AUS) (121) and another new entrant to the listing ARMADA (NZ) (120), whose performance in winning the Stewards' Cup has seen his ranking rise above THE DUKE (AUS) (117), his conqueror in the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile in December.

ASIATIC BOY (ARG) (120), in winning the Al Naboodah UAE Derby in impressive fashion, exceeded even the performance of DISCREET CAT (USA) (128) in winning the corresponding race last year, and the subsequent career of this exciting horse will be eagerly awaited.

While TAKEOVER TARGET (AUS) (120) remains the top ranked Australian horse in the listing, he faces a new threat to his status in the emerging mare MISS ANDRETTI (AUS) (117), who has had a series of impressive performances recently culminating in the Seppelt Wines Newmarket Handicap. Other notable Australian entries to the current listing include EL SEGUNDO (NZ) (118), POMPEII RULER (AUS) (118) and multiple Group 1 winner DESERT WAR (AUS) (117).

The World's Leading Horses are compiled by the World Rankings Supervisory Committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA). The next World's Leading Horses listing will be released in May 2007.
