Big Data – What is it and what does it mean for Racing?

Big Data is the new IT buzzword. In this age where more and more things are connected, monitored and captured, what is Big Data? How is it used? What does it mean for business and for the consumer? How will it change things?

Tony Surtees is a Board Member of Commercialisation Australia, the Australian Government body responsible for promoting the commercialization of innovative intellectual property, Chief Operating Officer of Brandscreen, and a Global Advisory Board Member of Advance. He is a former Vice President and General Manager of Yahoo!'s Commerce group at their California headquarters, responsible for 14 business units generating over US$2.5B in gross sales.

His reputation as a leading authority on e-commerce, online retail and mobile commerce is well-earned, with best-selling author and entrepreneur Seth Godin describing him as 'one of the most brilliant marketers on the scene today'.

Tony Surtees joins the session "Connecting with the Customer" which is chaired by Hong Kong Jockey Club Executive Director, Customer and Marketing Richard Cheung.
