Ascot (UK) / St.-Imier (Switzerland), 19th June 2013 - Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aishwarya Rai Bachchan spent the day at Royal Ascot as Longines celebrated not only seven years of being the Official Timekeeper of Royal Ascot but this year, also the official partner and watch of Royal Ascot. Aishwarya presented a Conquest Classic watch to the winning jockey, owner, trainer and lad of Sole Power, winner of the King’s Stand Stakes, a prestigious Grade 1 race held on the opening day of the Royal Ascot meeting. Longines also judged the best turned out horse contest.
Considered by many as one of the world’s most beautiful women, the Indian beauty and Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai, Longines Ambassador of Elegance, has embodied Longines slogan “Elegance is an attitude” for more than ten years and brought some glamour and sophistication to a day at Ascot races.
Longines is the Official timekeeper for Royal Ascot, with the brand having enhanced on course presence including a branded chronometer close to the winning post this year. As well as being the Official Timekeeper, Longines is now official partner and watch of Ascot for the flat race season, including Royal Ascot again this year. Aishwarya Rai, alongside Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing Juan Carlos Capelli and Brand Director UK Katrina Jones presented the prize for the King’s Stand Stakes race to winning jockey Johnny Murtagh and the winning horse Sole Power for their incredible performance. Owner, trainer and lad of Sole Power were presented with watches as well. Longines also judged the best turned out horse contest for this race and awarded the prize to the groom of Heeraat, Wajid Hussain.
