New Zealand racing publishes growth figures
Turnover on New Zealand thoroughbred racing has continued to remain ahead of last year’s turnover for the second successive quarter. The period from 1 November 2004 to 31 January 2005 showed 4.7% growth for total off-course turnover on the same period last year: 03/04: $120,151,949 04/05: $125,809,231 Average turnover per race has grown an outstanding 10.5% or $14,874 in the second quarter against last year: 03/04: $142,191 04/05: $157,065 Average turnover per runner has seen 4% growth: 03/04: $12,832 04/05: $13,339 Year to date turnover for the first six months for off-course has grown 7% from $202,867,021 to $217,297,643
