Online bookmakers stopped in China

Chinese authorities uncovered two online bookmaking operations with their server based in Taiwan. One of the sites was apparently taking up to US$1,6 million dollars of bets per month from Chinese citizen.

The two betting sites, with under cover betting shops and agents based in China, where primarily taking bets on foreign football games.

The Chinese authorities, who are particularly concerned about the involvement of organised crime and the substantial money flows abroad, announced to step up their action against illegal online gambling.
