Swiss consultants to EU will present findings at conference | |
The consultants that will advise the European Commission about the Internal Market and Gambling Services will speak next month at a conference on "A Case for gambling de-regulation in Europe". The conference, sponsored by the online gaming industry, seems to shine yet another doubt on the impartiality of the consultants chosen by the European Commission to give elements on which to establish a EU policy on online gaming. The consultants, the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law, have already been discredited by many for having carried out studies for the online gaming industry and a study to the Swiss government, in which it advised de-regulation. At the April conference, the consultants will speak on "The Recommendations of the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law on EU gaming regulations across the enlarged Community." The recommendations are not yet officially made public and will be made subject to public consultations in Spring. More information on the conference can be found on the website from the Maltese organisers at www.gmmbusiness.com |
