New Executive Council of the EMHF | |
On Monday 8th July in Budapest, the new Executive Council of the European and Mediterranean Horseracing Authority was ratified.
Mr Paul Bittar, Chief Executive of the British Horseracing Association, has replaced Mr Nic Coward as Britain’s representative. Mr. Hubert Monzat, Chief Executive Officer of France Galop, represents France. Mr Rudiger Schmanns, Director of Racing at the Direktorium für Vollblutzucht und Rennen, represents Germany and Mr Zsolt Hegedus represents the Hungarian Racing Authority.
The involvement of Dr Paull Khan as Secretary-General has been extended by a further year, by agreement with Weatherbys, for whom he is Director of Racing. Mr Brian Kavanagh, Chairman of EMHF, commented:
“The responsibilities of the EMHF continue to grow, along with the number of countries it represents, and I am delighted that it will continue to be served by an Executive Council of such high calibre. I am particularly pleased to welcome onto the Council Spain, a country whose dynamic efforts to re-kindle her racing industry have recently been reflected by the upgrading of a number of her races to International Listed status”.
The European and Mediterranean Horseracing Federation is part of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.
EMHF comprises 22 countries.
EMHF aims to develop relations among European and Mediterranean Horseracing Authorities, to coordinate promotion of horseracing in Europe and in Mediterranean countries and to defend its integrity andprestige throughout the world
