NTRA to push for Office for Wagering Integrity | |
The Washington based National Thoroughbred Racing Authority (NTRA) continues its efforts to create a national Office of Wagering Integrity. The NTRA board of Directors, meeting on 1 December, discussed a report by Bruce Garland, the NTRA board member who heads a task force formed to facilitate the office. The creation of an Office of Wagering Intergity was originally proposed in 2003, by the security company headed by former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani. Giuilani was hired to propose security and integrity improvements after the 2002 Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6 fraud. Garland’s report, which makes proposals for tote data aggregation, will be further discussed in January 2006. |
